Unboxing

Inside the packaging box of the Samsung Galaxy A13, 4G is a USB type C to type C charging cable. But there is no charger. That is, there is no charging brick included in the package. Anyways moving on, there is a SIM ejector tool and that is it. This is one of the first of Samsung’s affordable phones that we’ve seen that have no charger in the box.

Design

Now the Samsung Galaxy A13 4G smartphone looks pretty sweet. It’s nice to see some of those Samsung design hues coming down to the lower-end models. Just have our very simple triple lens set up here. You have a matte plastic finish on the back here. There is also plastic on the sides here. On the bottom, you have a headphone jack. Love to see that and the mic also. You have a type C port capable of 15W fast charging. There is also a single speaker on the right side. The volume rockers are at the top. And one of our favorites is the side-mounted fingerprint sensor. And on the top, we have another mic.

Cameras

There are four cameras on the back of the Samsung Galaxy A13 4G with a 50 MP, f/1.9, 23mm (wide), PDAF main sensor. Present here also is a 5 MP, f/2.2, (ultrawide), 1/5″, 1.12µm, 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth) and 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro). When it came to daylight photos, you will get okay results. Except for a few outliers, the photos are all sharp with good dynamic range. Generally, these photos are very competitive for the price point. The Galaxy A13 4G records videos up to 1080p@30fps with both the main and selfie cameras. Speaking of which, this phone has an 8 MP, f/2.2, (wide) selfie shooter. 

Android 12, One UI 4

What you have got running the Samsung Galaxy A13 4G is Android 12, One UI 4.1 launcher. One UI just brings the best of Android 12 here. For instance, the privacy features are present and correct. You can fast toggle the camera and microphone access for all apps. And when you load up an app that uses the camera or the mic, you’ll get a little indicator at the top corner. You’ve got great customization in one UI. For example, you change the wallpaper and everything as usual, but you’ll also see the new colour palette option as well. This can actually change up the theme and colours based on the wallpaper you’ve got installed at the time.
