Overview of the Samsung Galaxy A32
So the Samsung Galaxy A32 was launched in February 2020. It’s a pressing question if you’re looking at the Galaxy A32 in 4G spec and its 5G counterpart. And apart from the network connectivity, there are a few features that separate the two.
The Samsung Galaxy A32 price in Kenya will vary as there are offers currently.

Design and Build
The design language of the Galaxy A32 is a little strange, particularly when it comes to the camera. Three distinct modules protrude from a completely flat backplate, each on its own.
The back panel is made of plastic. Earlier reports said it was Gorilla Glass 5, but we verified with Samsung that it is, in reality, plastic. Plastic is less susceptible to cracking and is lighter, so it’s not a big deal in and of itself; it just doesn’t feel as high-end.
The 90Hz AMOLED is the focal point on the front. It’s a 6.4-inch display that, like any other at first sight, grows on you the more you look at it. It’s an Infinity-U display, with the U shaped like the cutout for the selfie camera. With a relatively thick border surrounding the window, the bezel situation isn’t as glamorous as the display itself.
The Galaxy A32 (non-5G) has a good Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. Perhaps more significantly, the display features a (moderately) quick refresh rate of up to 90Hz. All of this contrasts with the Galaxy A32 5G, which has a 60Hz 720p LCD that is noticeably inferior.
User Interface and Performance
The Galaxy A32 comes pre-installed with the new One UI 3.1 and Android 11 – the same as the Galaxy A52. The A32, like most other recent Samsungs, should receive three big OS updates and four years of security patches. In theory, your Galaxy A32 should be updated to Android 14 in 2023. If we’ve ever seen a great pledge to support, this is it.
The Mediatek Helio G80 chip in the Galaxy A32 is an adequate performer, but it will struggle to compete with rival products in this price range. It has a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU and an octa-core CPU in a 2+6 configuration (2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55). There are many RAM and storage options available, ranging from 4GB/64GB to 8GB/128GB.
Camera Quality
The Galaxy A32’s 8MP ultrawide camera is a near-perfect compromise between the A12’s (5MP) and the A52’s (8MP) cameras (13MP). It has a 1/4″ sensor with 1.0m pixels and an f/2.2 aperture lens with a field of view of 123 degrees. Software distortion correction isn’t available on this one, as it wasn’t on the A12, but it is on the A52.
For selfies, there’s a 20MP camera in the notch of the display that uses an SK Hynix sensor with a Quad Bayer filter array and 1.0m pixels, as well as an SK Hynix sensor with a Quad Bayer filter array and 1.0m pixels. The lens has a 25mm equivalent focal length and an f/2.2 aperture, according to the manufacturer.
Video Recording
The main camera’s video quality in 1080p is nearly identical to that of the Galaxy A12, which isn’t very flattering for the approximately twice as costly A32. We’re talking about some extreme sharpening and poor detail, but there’s little or no noise. Colours are on point, perhaps a smidge more saturated than on the A12. Dynamic range is relatively broad, and colours are on point, perhaps a smidge more saturated than on the A12.
Battery Life
The Galaxy A32 has a 5,000mAh battery, which is a pretty standard size for midranges these days – Samsung’s own A-series has a slew of phones with that capacity. This model has a 90Hz display that is also FullHD, making it one of the more demanding displays, though the relatively modest chipset should help offset that.
The Galaxy A32, like most lower-end Samsungs, comes with a 15W charger with Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging stamped on it, a name (and technology) that dates back 6-7 years. The A32 charges from flat to complete in 2:19 hours, with the battery indicator showing 25% half an hour into the operation.
